Anti science sentiment in the press

As researchers and advocates we sadly have to face ignorance, adversity and even hostility towards the concept of healthy longevity and the science that will deliver this to society.

This article in the UK Telegraph today is a prime example of the anti scientific attitude of certain people where Dr Blackburn a Nobel Prize Winner and Gerontologist makes a reasonable statement about aging research and is made a mockery of by the writer despite said writer being a finance expert not a scientist .

Note the usual objections about aging research are thrown in here as the writer tries to convince readers science is a force of oppressive dystopia and attempts to scare people rather than embrace the wonderful opportunity longevity will bring. This is the kind of adversity we must work hard to defeat and show science as the force for good it clearly is.
